Blythe Park Power Station
BPP03

Welcome to the Blythe Park Power website.

Blythe Park Power Limited is proposing to build a natural gas-fired power station on land next to Blythe Park Business Park at Draycott-in-the-Moors, Staffordshire. The power station would be capable of generating 950 megawatts (MW) of electricity and so able to supply the electricity needs of around 1.8 million homes* – about 80-90% of the number of homes in the West Midlands**.

The station will use the very latest power generation technology to ensure maximum energy efficiency and low environmental impact.

Blythe Park Power is presently seeking approval from the UK Government’s Department of Energy & Climate Change for permission to build the station. Its application is currently open for public consultation. If permission is granted, the station is targeted to start construction in 2013.

This website provides information on the project.  However if you require any additional information or wish to provide us with feedback on our plans, please contact us via this link.  Your views are important to us.

Thank you.

* assuming an average household consumption of 4700 kWh per year (as recommended by the British Wind Energy Association)
** according to data from the 2001 Census
